This is the toolbox end of Wazala, the fixing jobs that keep a house working and the bigger weekend projects you feel under your feet. Some are small and satisfying: a slow bathtub drain cleared in fifteen minutes, grout scrubbed back to white. Others take a whole weekend, like refinishing tired floorboards or hanging a door until the gap runs even all the way round. I am not a contractor, and every post says so when a job is better handed to one. What you get here is what I actually did in this house, in the order I did it, tools listed first so there are no mid-job trips to the hardware shop. Pick the fix your house has been asking for. We will get it done properly, and probably with tea breaks.
