What changed: dated, greasy cabinets degreased, primed and painted a soft sage, with the same doors and layout underneath.

This is my favourite corner of the whole site, so of course it sits near the end of the menu. Every makeover I have written up on Wazala lives here in one place: the tired before, the much happier after, and the full post linked under each one. Some of these were whole weekends with a sander and the radio on. A couple took one afternoon and a single tin of paint. All of them started with something I was tempted to replace, and all of them ended with me glad I did not. If you are standing in your own kitchen or hallway right now thinking a room is beyond help, start here. The cabinets were the worst of the lot, and they turned out fine. Click through to any project for the steps, the shopping list, the honest timing, and the bits that went wrong, because there are always bits that go wrong, and I write those down too.
