Who runs this site

Wazala is a home decor and DIY blog written by Lisa Ben. The site lives at wazala.site, and you can reach me any time at info@wazala.site. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit, what I do with it, and the choices you have. I keep it short on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email me and ask.

What I collect, and why

There are only three ways information comes in:

Reading the blog itself needs no account and no sign-up. You do not have to give me anything to read a tutorial.

How your information is used

Plainly: to run the blog and answer my mail. Log data helps me fix errors and decide what to write next. Contact messages get a reply, and then they sit in my inbox like any other email. Newsletter addresses are used for the letter, and only the letter. I do not sell personal information, and I do not rent, trade or share it with marketers.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser so the site, or your browser, can remember small things between visits. Right now Wazala itself is a simple site and sets no tracking cookies of its own. Your browser or the hosting server may still use short-lived technical cookies to deliver pages properly.

If I add advertising or visitor statistics tools later, those services usually rely on cookies, and that changes things. When that day comes, this policy will be updated first to name the tools being used and what they collect, before or at the same time as they are switched on. Nothing of that sort is running today.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The blog will still work.

How long I keep things

Server logs roll over and are deleted by the host on their normal cycle. Contact emails stay in my inbox while they are useful, and I clear out old ones from time to time. Your newsletter address stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove it, and then it is deleted.

Your rights

Your information belongs to you. At any time, you can email info@wazala.site and ask me to:

Every Sunday Letter also carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and one click is enough. I act on these requests myself and aim to finish them within a few days, not weeks.

Children's privacy

Wazala is written for adults who are decorating their homes. It is not aimed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent me their details, write to me and I will delete them.

Links to other sites

Posts sometimes link out to other websites: a paint maker's colour chart, a shop where I bought something, another blog. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I am not responsible for how they handle your visit. It is worth a quick look at their pages if you are signing up for anything there.

Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles information changes, I will rewrite this page and move the date at the top. Big changes, like adding advertising, will also get a note in the Sunday Letter so regular readers hear about them directly.

Contact

Questions about privacy, or about anything else on Wazala: info@wazala.site, or use the contact page. I read everything myself.
