Accepting these terms
Wazala is a home decor and DIY blog run by Lisa Ben, at wazala.site. By reading or using this site, you agree to the terms on this page. If you do not agree with them, the honest option is to stop using the site. I may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the one that counts.
What the content is for
Everything here, from paint colour roundups to furniture tutorials, is written for general information and inspiration. I share what I did in my house, what it cost me and what I learned. That is a starting point for your own project, not a guarantee that the same steps, products or prices will fit your home, your climate or your budget.
DIY projects are at your own risk
If you follow a tutorial from this site, you are doing the project yourself, in your home, at your own risk. Read the whole post before you start, follow the manufacturer's instructions for every tool and product, and wear the right protective gear. Some jobs belong to licensed professionals: electrical work, plumbing, gas and anything structural. A blog post is never a substitute for a qualified tradesperson. The disclaimer page goes into this in more detail.
Who owns the words and images
The writing, photos, graphics and layout on Wazala belong to Wazala and Lisa Ben, unless a page says otherwise. You are welcome to:
- link to any post (please do, it is how blogs grow),
- quote a short passage with clear credit and a link back to the original post,
- share posts on social media using the share tools or a direct link.
What is not allowed: copying whole articles, republishing my photos as your own, or using the content in a product you sell, without asking first in writing. Brand names and product names mentioned in posts belong to their owners; mentioning a paint brand or a shop does not mean they endorse this site.
Messages you send me
When you email me, use the contact form or reply to the newsletter, you keep ownership of what you wrote. By sending it, you give me permission to read it and, where it makes sense, to quote a short part of it on the site, for example a reader's question in a follow-up post. I will use your first name only, and never your email address. If you would rather not be quoted at all, say so in the message and I will respect it.
Prohibited use
Please do not:
- copy or scrape the site in bulk, or republish its content elsewhere,
- use the contact form or newsletter for spam, advertising or anything unlawful,
- try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its server,
- pretend to be me, or imply that Wazala endorses something it does not.
Links to other websites
Posts link to outside sites: shops, manufacturers, other blogs. I try to link to places I trust, but I do not control them, their prices or their policies, and a link is not a promise that everything on that site is right for you.
Limits of liability
Wazala is provided as it is. I work hard to get facts, measurements and prices right, and I fix mistakes when readers point them out. Even so, to the fullest extent the law allows, Wazala and Lisa Ben are not liable for losses or damage that come from using this site or following its tutorials, including project costs, damaged property or injury. Put plainly: check before you drill, test before you paint the whole room, and the risk in your project stays with you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot legally be taken away.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will appear on this page with a fresh date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
